When she was five years old.. Celestina was sent to live with her God parents, Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel to begin her education.. her father had already decided she was not to come to Hogwarts.. he wanted his daughter safe.. especially from Voldemort.. who was beginning his first crusade... he would tell no one about her... but he was scared too... about seeing her.. about the memories he would have..
Celestina was terrified about living with this witch and wizard she had never met.. however.. Perenelle won her over by giving her a gold locket engraved with a fancy script E and bearing two pictures.. one of her mother dancing.. and another of her mother and father together. It was just what was needed. Celestina then won over the shy Nicholas.. he'd been reluctant about taking in a child.. a lot of people thought he was .. strange.. crazy even.. and he didn't want a child to poke fun at him... but in her patient, gentle way- the same as her mother's Celestina won his heart. He began to tutor her in magic while Perenelle taught her fine arts.. writing, Latin, French, music, cooking, gardening.. and the two were amazing parents.. she saw her father only once a year- if she was lucky.. and never really corresponded with him at all.. to her.. her parents were Nic and Perenelle.. she'd come to know him as Sir Nicholas.. she liked it because it sounded like he was a real professor and she really could go to school. The name stuck and he was affectionately her, "Sir Nichoals" even when she grew up.
They were extremely close to her.. it's hard to show just how much... but as she got older, she wanted to know her father.. at the time she thought he blamed her for her mother's death.. thought he was displeased with her and hated her.. that's why he didn't want anything to do with her.. Nicholas and Perenelle didn't know how they would deal with the loss of Celestina.. she had been theirs for ten years.. she hadn't had playmates... nor others in her life.. it had been her and them for ten whole years... They had adjusted to having her there.. but they knew she and Dumbledore needed this time to Bond, so Nicholas talked his friend into letting his daughter go to Hogwarts, starting in her fifth year under the name Celestina Flamel to keep her identity a secret.. Nic had taught her far beyond these lessons since she'd been studying for ten years already and privately with one of the greatest wizards ever.. but her purpose in coming was to make her first friends- for she'd never even talked with someone her own age- and also to get to know her stand offish father..
She met and befriended Lily Evans.. who became her dearest friend... she knew the Marauders... she was the first girl to actually prank them back when they tried to prank her... she learned Remus' secret when she was (foolish) enough to try and follow them and just happened to pick a full moon night to do so. It became a sort of unwritten law that she would go with them on their full moon escapades. She was the first girl to bear Remus' secret. In return she told them her secrets. They gave her the nickname "Windwhisper" because of her animagus form. Her favorite subject was Transfiguration and Nicholas - much to her father's annoyance- had humored her wish to teach her the art of animagism...she could become a phoenix at will.. She later became sort of the.. bonding glue.. that put Lily and the Marauders to being able to stand each other.. and later becoming friends...
Celestina was involved in lots of school activities, including the Hogwarts Herald, a student newspaper, which died out in later years, The Hogwarts Chorus and Ensemble, The Chess club, and most notably- she was Seeker on the Gryffindor Quidditch team her 5th 6th and 7th year.
She and Sirius dated during their sixth and seventh year and were engaged after. She began working at the Ministry of Magic as an Unspeakable and loved the experiments because they reminded her of the work she'd done with Sir Nicholas and Perenelle.. whom she visited and who visited her every chance they got.. they were still very close... Her father became very very close to her and she was quite the Daddy's little girl. Despite a late start... She developed a close relationship with Minerva as well.
Then.. one winter's night.. it all changed.. Dumbledore's greatest fear was realized.. Bella found out about Celestina.. she told her master and he decided to use this to his advantage.. a crew of his Death Eaters broke into Celestina's flat and staged her death... leaving a burnt body in her place, blood on the floor, and the Dark Mark over the house.. then they took the real Celestina, bound and gagged, back to their Master. Hours later Sirius, James, Peter, Remus and Dumbledore went looking for Celestina when she didn't turn up to dinner and found the ruins... they quite believed the Death Eaters had murdered her...
Voldemort tested spells on Celestina.. mind control.. he held her hostage within his headquarters.. often times it was to her he talked (or yelled) when he was furious. Celestina had only her memories to help keep her sane... Lily and James and their baby son Harry who had just turned a year old.. whom Celestina and Sirius had doted on and spoiled, her father, Nic and Perenelle, Minerva, and the other Marauders were all she had.. she had to keep on moving. Voldemort wasn't always gentle... in fact he took from her what she could never get back... some people would have called it rape... but the Death Eaters saw nothing wrong with it.. even the fact she'd never had the chance to experience it with someone she loved first... no one seemed to care about that... He was her first. However, they did eventually develop a kind of mutual respect for one another... she was intelligent and patient.. following Perenelle's advice to always be kind to those who weren't even kind to you.. for you could never tell what misfortune worse than yours they'd borne to make them so.
However, he would never let her go.. it was too precious of bait to use at the right time.. so.. for so many years... almost seventeen to be exact.. the young woman was prisoner, servant, and guinea pig... subject to whatever might pass through Voldemort or his followers' minds... Bella was especially cruel when she learned of Celestina's love for her "Bloody git of a little cousin, Sirius"
Finally, during the battle at the Ministry of Magic... Celestina broke free from the mind control spells and escaped the Death Eaters... the most recent test he had used had done her some severe injury... giving her amnesia like symptoms... she could remember nothing about herself.. not even her name.. at the same time she had won her battle to freedom.. Sirius, whom she still loved so much.... had lost his... (*Though in Some RPs and fics I ressurect him so that they can reform their relationship that they lost.) She knew Nic and Perenelle had died.. she'd seen it in a scrap of the Daily Prophet when it happened... This had hit her immeasurably hard.. they'd died not knowing the truth... she would never again feel one of Sir Nicholas' hugs, never hear them sing the old lulllabye they'd sung to help her sleep as a child. Never more...
Luckily.. she'd managed to end up in St. Mungo's where they began giving her the proper treatment. One of the Healers knew her.. Healer Chance... who had worked at St. Mungo's and been the Head Healer since before she was born... he'd seen her come in with Remus after a particularly bad full moon so many times... Healer Chance figured out the story and summoned Dumbledore at once... but Celestina had no recollection.. this had pained her father.. but he and Healer Chance had been patient, treating her and waiting to see.. Finally... just before her birthday the following year (this year 1997) she had recovered her mind and her memories... all of them.. despite her pain at the loss of Sirius, her best friend Lily and James and Peter's betrayal and especially Perenelle and Sir Nicholas.. she moved on... she made it.. not to say her father didn't have to devote a great deal of attention to her.. so much that Harry began to notice he was leaving the school for long periods of time.. when he wasn't at school he was with his precious daughter, reforming their relationship again.. (*various RPs and Fics also cut out the end of HBP so that Dumbledore doesn't die*)
Celestina is able to move on and she's reunited with Remus.. he's able to help her move on as he felt like he too had lost everything when Lily and James died.. they can help one another. Celestina won't give up.. she'll keep on fighting.. always..
